The
Framework.

Therapy works best when the boundaries are clear and secure. Here are the practicalities of how we work together.

The Process

1. The Assessment

Establishing safety and connection. We meet Adult-to-Adult to discuss what brings you here, what you hope to achieve, and ensure we are a good fit for the work ahead.

2. The Contract

Therapy shouldn't be aimless. Together, we set clear, mutual goals. We define exactly what we are trying to change so we both know what we are working towards.

3. Decontamination

The messy middle. This is where we safely sort the past from the present, untangling old survival scripts and challenging the rigid rules of the Parent ego state.

4. Autonomy

Moving forward. You reclaim the capacity for awareness, spontaneity, and intimacy—freed from old compulsions and fully grounded in the 'here and now'.

Practical Questions

Not currently. I am completing my clinical placement year and acquiring my required hours in Sheffield and Rotherham. However, my practice will be opening for private clients soon.

Sessions last for 50 minutes. We will typically meet once a week at the same time and day. This consistency creates a safe, predictable container for the work we do.

Both. I offer online sessions via secure video link for clients anywhere in the UK, as well as face-to-face sessions at my practice rooms in Hull. We can discuss which format feels safest and most effective for you during the assessment.

TA is a widely recognized form of modern psychology designed to promote personal growth and change. It is built on the philosophy that "people are OK" and that everyone has the capacity to think for themselves. We look at how our past influences our present, and how our three Ego States (Parent, Adult, Child) interact with the world. Read more about the approach here.
